NOTICE : TO ALL BLACK BELTS NO LONGER TRAINING
REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE !
If you no longer train, that is your choice, but you are not off the radar.
Even if you obtained your Black Belt as a child you still hold that rank as an adult.
You are still responsible for your grade qualification.
When you were awarded your Black Belt, you received a Black Belt Licence which is a record of your achievement (proof of grade).
Is it registered up-to-date (valid) ? If No, why not?
You are a Black Belt for life.
You are on a National Black Belt Register.
You should not undervalue (or neglect what you have).
SELF PROTECTION (Value of a Black Belt Registered Licence Book)
You are trained to be competent in technical skills.
If those skills are misused they become dangerous, your arms/legs can be used as weapons at the level you achieved.
A valid Black Belt Licence shows your grade and that you are insured with your Association/Club in the UK.
What happens if you teach or train outside of the UK, do you need a valid Licence? Do you know which Countries require it?
If you found yourself in a situation that required the use of Self-Defence, but you had never been trained in how to use Self-Defence, would it become assault?
Should you have a registered licence (valid) in or outside of the UK?
If you had to use Self-Defence, could you prove it without a Licence?
As a Black Belt that has a registered qualification, can you really risk not having a valid Licence (regardless if you train or not)?
Remember self protection requires responsibility!
VALUE YOUR LICENCE (Do not neglect it) !
When you received your Licence you accepted an oath (if you signed it or not).
This is found in your Licence Book. Do you still abide by it?
Even today, it is surprising how many Black Belts who have given Blood, Sweat and Tears, to get where they are, do not have a registered Licence.
You do! Do not neglect it (* Most of us have heard of the restaurant menu (in a foreign language) being used as a Black Belt Certificate).
To get your qualification cost you time and money, do not treat your belt as a piece of coloured cloth.
"YOU ARE AN EXAMPLE TO YOUR ACHIEVEMENT
DO NOT UNDERVALUE OR NEGLECT THAT FACT!"
